Now I’m a freshman in college. Crazy how time passes like that.

I vaguely remember when “4 years ago” seemed like a long time. A few years after college, it’s like jumping to warp speed. Stuff that happened a year ago or 5 years ago are basically the same. If it wasn’t 10+ years ago, it was recent.

Man, it’s crazy to think that 2018 marks 10 years since Fall Out Boy debuted Folie A Deux. That was the first CD I ripped in its entirety onto my little 1gb MP3 player.

I’ve still never heard more than 1 Fallout Boy song. I like the style...there’s just no time.

Just wait till your outta school. Time goes by so fast when there’s no summer break :(

Wait until you get to the point where you can look back four years and it’s exactly the same life stage you’re in now. Time passing isn’t “crazy” until you start becoming unable to notice it.

After you graduate college you’ll come to the realization that things you think were fairly recent have been almost a decade ago.
I have friends who I’ve known for over a decade now. That concept never occurred to me until one night I was shooting the shit with one of two friends I’ve stayed in contact with from high school.

Believe me, I know (40+ hour work weeks in summer are long but they make bank).

I’m pretty much already there, lol. Recently I said to my buddy “hey remember when your mom got the grey City Jetta?” He replied with “bruh, that was 9 years ago.”

The funny part is that I’m already pretty much unable to notice it.

Me and two high school friends have a three person group chat, apply named “automobile enthusiast talk.” Despite the fact that we live in three differnt states, we talk most every day. Half the time it’s random car things we see.
We graduated high school in 2008.

Shiiiit, it feels like yesterday that I was being constantly bombarded by FOB’s “Arms Race” video on MTV2. And Patrick Stump was like 60 pounds heavier

That’s pretty awesome. I talk to those friends once every few weeks. Sometimes it becomes months between. The nice thing though is when we randomly text each other it’s like there was never a break between talking.

Same. On a related note, when was the last time you heard Sum 41 on a Top 40 station? It feels like ages.

I’ve got few friends like that. It is nice to be able to reconnect without missing a beat. Modern technology makes it a lot easier to stay touch as well.

I am blessed to be too old to have ever heard that song before and your post has allowed me to know that I never have to listen to it again. Sometimes the internet is bad thing, this is one such time.

Wait until songs you listened to in high school pop up on “classic rock,” radio.
Happened to me the first time about 4 years ago.
This was the song of the summer on rock stations in 1993.

Sum 41! Now there’s a childhood band! I just graduated last year though. I hear them on the local alternative station a fair bit, they just released an album.

I’ve been bitching about the local classic rock station playing hair metal, even though I’m 18. It’s still too new for me!

13 Voices was pretty good consider Deryck basically had to re-learn guitar for it.

I haven’t heard it yet. Normally I’d just go on YouTube and listen to it, but this is a rare exception where I want to buy the CD and listen to it the old fashioned way.

hadn’t heard it before
